Scholarships

GBT General Education Scholarship

Each year GBT provides thousands of dollars in scholarships available to area youth. We are excited to again be able to  award 10 scholarships, each worth $700, to help further higher education among our youth in the GBT Service Area!  Parents/guardians must have had at least 1 GBT service since January 1, 2025.

FRS General Scholarship

GBT joins with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) to provide a $2,500 scholarship for first year students of college, university, or vocational-technical school.

Youth Tour

Sponsored by GBT and FRS Youth Tour is a chance for high school students aged 16 or 17, to visit our nation’s capital for five days to learn about legislative and agency processes and the important role of broadband services in rural communities.

Fort Hays Tech NC Student Sponsorship

GBT is continuing our partnership with Fort Hays Tech North Central to build and grow the Telecommunications & Network Technology program. This 2-year, 4-semester program provides the technical knowledge and skills needed for a career in the communications and network technology industry.

James L. Bass Legal Scholarship 2025

The NTCA Board established a scholarship for students entering their first year of law school and who have an interest in rural communities.

FRS Scholarships

In addition to the General Scholarship, FRS program includes a number of named scholarship opportunities.

TA Foundation 2025 Academic and Trade School Scholarship

As of 2008, the WTA Foundation has awarded over $350,000 in academic and trade school scholarships to graduating high school seniors of WTA members. Scholarship awards range from $750 to $2,500.
